We are so excited for Annie and Matt’s 9/10/11 wedding!  It’s getting closer by the day!  They are super fun and for the engagement session, we roamed around to search for some awesome stone textures.  After getting some great edgy shots, we traveled to Catlett, VA to finish the shoot at Seven Oaks Lavender Farm.  The scenery was so beautiful with the sun setting on the lavender fields.  And as you can see, Annie and Matt are stunning!

A huge thank you to Debra from Seven Oaks!  They recently had an offer on Groupon which brought a ton of new crowds to the fields.  She was so nice and even allowed us to come after hours to avoid the crowds for our photo shoot!  Thank you so much!

Annie & Matt | Front Royal Wedding » Dacia Photography by Kristen Thomas | Weddings, Engagements, Maternity, Newborn | Serving DC, VA, MD & Beyond - […] Annie and Matt’s day had finally arrived…  9.10.11!  It was calling for rain and thunderstorms, but instead, they had gorgeous sunny skies all day.  Their amazing ceremony and reception was held at the Shenandoah Valley Golf Club in Front Royal, VA.  Annie was absolutely stunning in her gown, and I loved all the beautiful details and Chinese elements she incorporated into the day!  Their sweetheart table was adorned with delicate red and white teacups and saucers, and each guest went home with a little Chinese porcelain soup spoon!  Their day couldn’t have been more perfect! If you’ve been following my blog for any length of time, you already know that I love featuring adoptive families!  I’ve been blessed to know the Moegling family for several years through working at America World Adoption.  After adopting their second son, Noah, from Nizhny Novgorod, Russia (doesn’t he look exactly like their biological son??  yeah, the resemblance is crazy!), they felt called to go back again for another child.  After a very long four year process of waiting, and waiting, they finally were able to travel to Moscow, Russia to adopt precious Alec!  When we met up with the family, Alec had only been home for four months.  He was so precious and already adjusting well with his new family.  He fits right in with his big brothers!

At a little more than one month old, I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing sweet Savannah.  You may remember her story from her Mommy Dia’s maternity and tribute session.  Cameron and Dia wanted to wait to see what gender they were having, so on May 16th, she welcomed her sweet baby girl into the world!  Savannah’s name was chosen by her Daddy and she already resembles him in many ways.  Cameron would be so proud to see his wife and precious baby, Dia is a complete natural as a wonderful loving Mommy!

What could be more adorable than these three sweet boys??  It was so wonderful finally meeting the Hubler’s, and we really enjoyed our family session with them!  Wesley is such a great big brother to twins, Sam and Austin.  Thank you for allowing us to photograph your family!  We are thrilled with how the photos turned out, and hope that you will love them too!  🙂

Along with being an amazing photographer, Lori Moore is also a military wife and mother.  Her husband Tyler, has already been to Afghanistan four times with the Air Force and they recently received orders again for another deployment.  I honestly don’t know how these families do it….  Being apart and missing holidays and birthdays and thinking there will not be another deployment, and then getting the call…

We met up with the Moore’s the night before Tyler left, to photograph his sweet family.  It truly gave me a new perspective and appreciation for the military families who sacrifice so much.

Tyler ~ Thank you so much for your willingness to serve our country and sacrifice for your family and our families.  We know the kids and Lori will miss you continuously.  We are praying for your safety, that these next 6 months will pass by quickly, and that you will be home for Christmas!
