This is one maternity session we weren’t sure was going to happen!  Both of Laura’s kids were born early before their due dates, Finley by a month!  Between me moving in a new home, being out of town for several weeks with family, and a few dates canceled because of rain, it was difficult to pin down a date.  I’m so happy we were finally able to find a sunny day to photograph her beautiful growing belly and sweet kids!  Daddy, Evan, had to work that morning but will be joining us for the newborn session once the baby arrives….

Audrey, “Look mom!  I’m a reindeer!”  🙂

Grace Pennington - This is such a beautiful family and you did a wonderful job capturing their love for each other! Nice work!!ReplyCancel

Shannon and GH (affectionately known as Nonni & Doodah to the grandkids) live in VA, but their daughters live on opposite sides of the country with their families.  I was so excited to hear that everyone was coming in for a visit and the cousins were finally going to get a chance to meet!  So I drove into Fishersville and we met up for some family photos at Barren Ridge Vineyards to document the occasion.  We all had a great time playing with the boys and I’m so glad I was able to come in town to capture the visit!

What do you get when you take a stunning couple, fabulous location with amazing details, movie themed reception, twenty four bridesmaids / groomsmen and three photographers?…  Over 2,500 photos and the longest blog post ever! I have seriously had the most difficult time trying to narrow down and choose my favorites, cause I love them all!

With tears in his eyes, Patrick watched his gorgeous bride, Katy, gracefully walk down the aisle to her love, collecting her bouquet along the way.  Patrick & Katy‘s ceremony began as the pastors quoted in full accent,  “Mawage. Mawage is wot bwings us togeder tooday. Mawage, that bwessed awangment, that dweam wifin a dweam… And wuv, tru wuv, will fowow you foweva… So tweasure your wuv….”  Oh yes, they did!  The congregation was dying with laughter!  The ceremony continued as Katy & Patrick made their own unity candle — yes, I said, made.  They started off by pouring sand together in a vase and sealing it with melting wax, and returning later in the ceremony to light the candle.  Their vows were heartfelt, and the kiss…. well, the kiss was probably the best wedding kiss ever!   The reception at Oakwood Country Club was equally packed with amazing details including the cake made by the groom (they go together like Peas & Carrots), a killer bridal party dance-off introduction and some of the best toasts we’ve ever heard.  A-ma-zing!!!

**A huge thank you to Lori Moore and my hubby John for being wonderful second shooters! I couldn’t have captured the day without you!

On July 17, we couldn’t think of a better way to spend our first anniversary than to return to Barren Ridge Vineyards where we had gotten married.  We enjoyed our wedding cake, some sparkling cider (no wine for me this year!) and just enjoyed being there to reminisce and see the sunset.  Our friends Patrick and Katy came along to take some photos and video for us, since we have a special announcement to make…  the gender and name of our sweet baby, due in December!

Look at this precious tiny bundle of joy!  I absolutely love these photos of sweet baby Jackson.  He was an absolute angel and so easy to work with.  My favorite is the one where he’s smiling.  He kept smiling while sleeping, but always when I put the camera down.  So glad I finally caught his sweet grin!

Congratulations to new Mommy and Daddy, Sarah and Jean Paul!  You will make fabulous parents to this lucky little boy.
